What does Jane do brilliantly?
Credit where due: Jane's booking experience is one of the best-liked in the industry, it covers more disciplines than almost anyone, and it's the only mainstream platform with clinical surveys, scored outcome measures and a client review flow natively (spread across its plans). If you run a multi-disciplinary clinic — physio next to massage next to counselling — Jane's breadth is a genuine advantage.
Where is The Practitioner Portal different?
TPP makes the opposite bet: depth for one profession instead of breadth across many. Everything is shaped around how talking-therapy practices actually work:
- Therapy-only design. Session notes in the structures therapists use (SOAP, DAP, BIRP), homework and resource sharing, client surveys — no chiropractic charting in your way.
- Two plans, everything clinical in both. Solo (£29) and Practice (£65) both include telehealth, notes, billing with insurance-ready superbills, surveys and the client portal. The only difference is team size — no feature ladders to climb.
- UK-first. GDPR subject-access export and erasure tooling is built into the product, not a support ticket.
- Privacy by design. Clinical notes are encrypted, every access is logged, and no generative AI reads your notes inside the platform.

Common questions
Is The Practitioner Portal cheaper than Jane?
For a solo practitioner, usually yes: TPP Solo is £29/month with telehealth, typed clinical notes, billing with superbills and surveys all included, while Jane starts at CAD $54 with insurance billing as a paid add-on and reviews on its top plan. For teams, TPP Practice is £65 — compare the total for the features you actually need rather than the sticker price.
Is The Practitioner Portal only for therapists?
Yes. It's built for therapists, counsellors and psychologists. If your clinic also runs physiotherapy or chiropractic, a broad platform like Jane will fit better.
